Abbottabad: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Malik Adil Iqbal has stressed the need to use modern digital technology and artificial intelligence to promote the province’s rich cultural, archaeological and tourism heritage.
He was speaking as chief guest at a conference titled ‘Past Meets Present’ held at the Peshawar University Bara Gali Campus. Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority Shahid Khan Mehmood was also present.
The conference was attended by archaeologists, cultural experts, faculty members and students of the University of Peshawar. Participants discussed the integration of archaeology, culture and natural heritage with artificial intelligence and digital technology, promotion of digital tourism, and modern ways of showcasing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourism and cultural heritage internationally.
Malik Adil Iqbal emphasized sustainable tourism, preservation of cultural heritage, provision of safe and modern facilities for tourists, effective use of digital technology, and promotion of investment and partnerships in the tourism sector.
He said the rich history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a vital part of its identity, while modern technology and sustainable tourism could provide the foundation for a brighter future.
The Special Assistant said the government was committed to preserving the past, strengthening the present and building a sustainable future through modern approaches to tourism and heritage conservation.
