Sialkot: Police conducted an operation and arrested two robbers, including the ringleader of the notorious “Qainchi Gang, ” recovering stolen property worth millions of rupees here on Sunday.

According to a Police Official, Under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pasrur Circle, Station House Officer (SHO) Badiana Sub-Inspector Muhammad Irfan utilized modern technology and human intelligence to trace and apprehend the suspects.

During the operation, the police recovered seven stolen motorcycles, looted cash, and an illegal 30-bore pistol from the possession of the outlaws.

The accused were involved in numerous incidents of robbery and theft within the jurisdictions of Badiana and Motra police stations.

Further investigations was underway to recover more stolen property and to arrest other potential accomplices.

Muzaffargarh: The Punjab emergency service, Rescue 1122 finalized all flood emergency response arrangements to effectively tackle any potential flooding in the River Chenab.

According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams have been deployed at 18 vulnerable locations stretching from Chak Farazi to Head Panjnad along the River Chenab. The teams have been equipped with rescue boats, life jackets, radio communication system, rescue equipment, and other essential safety gear to ensure swift and effective response in case of any flood like emergency.

District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Muzaffargarh, Engineer Ubaidullah Khan, said that all flood deployment arrangements had been completed and rescue teams were on high alert around the clock at their designated locations.

He urged residents living inside the flood embankments along the River Chenab to shift along with their families, livestock, and valuable belongings, to safer areas outside the embankments.

He emphasized that timely precautionary measures were the best way to minimize the risk of loss of life and property.

The official also appealed to citizens to strictly follow the instructions issued by the district administration and Rescue 1122 and avoid delaying evacuation if advised. He further requested the public to immediately inform any emergency by calling the Rescue 1122 helpline to ensure prompt rescue services.

Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday extended heartfelt birthday greetings to President Asif Ali Zardari, praying for his long life, good health, continued success and further opportunities to serve the country and the nation.

In a felicitation message, the Governor described President Zardari as a seasoned statesman and a strong advocate of reconciliation, saying he had played a significant role in strengthening democracy, upholding the Constitution and reinforcing the federation throughout his political career.

Kundi said President Zardari’s political wisdom and services for national unity would always be remembered, adding that under his leadership the country would make further progress towards democratic stability, stronger constitutional institutions and greater national harmony.

He said the leadership and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), along with the people, extended their best wishes to President Zardari on his birthday.

The Governor also prayed that Almighty Allah bless President Zardari with good health, a long and happy life, and the strength to continue serving Pakistan.

Hyderabad: The Mayor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) Kashif Shoro held a public hearing of the citizens’ complaints pertaining to the municipal services at the mayor’s secretariat here on Sunday.

The officers of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HWandSC), HMC and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) were present during the hearing.

On the occasion, the citizens raised issues like accumulation of solid waste, overflowing sewage on roads, water shortage, need for street lights and cleanliness.

The Mayor warned the officials that negligence in water supply, drainage and cleanliness would not be tolerated.

Shoro said the purpose of holding weekly public hearings was to directly hear from the people what civic problems they faced in the city.

Balakot: At least 21 employees of Punjab University were injured when a university bus plunged into a deep ravine at Dumgala while returning from the tourist resort of Naran on Saturday, according to a spokesperson.

The bus reportedly lost control at the Dumgala area and fell into a ravine, leaving all 21 occupants injured. Rescue teams and local residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

The injured were identified as Nadeem Suleman, Syed Waqar Ali, Junaid, Muhammad Irfan, Furqan, Younis, Shakeel Ahmed, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Riaz, Shaukat, Adnan, Hafiz Rashid, Abdul Jabbar, Nazir Rashid, Tanveer Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Siddique, Nauman Ali, Muhammad Ishaq, Nadeem, and Faiz.

Hospital sources said the injured were receiving treatment, while authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Further details are awaited

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Police have issued a public advisory after a WhatsApp number associated with the City Police Officer (CPO) Office was compromised by hackers.

According to a spokesperson, the WhatsApp number 0307-8883800 has been hacked.

Citizens have been urged not to respond to or engage with any messages received from the compromised number.

The police said action is being taken against those responsible for the hacking incident and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The spokesperson appealed to the public to ignore any messages sent from the affected number until further notice and to remain vigilant against potential fraudulent or misleading communications.
