Quetta: Secretary Services and General Administration (SandGAD) Balochistan Agha Faisal on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations on August 14.

The meeting unanimously reiterated the resolve that the Independence Day would be celebrated with full national enthusiasm and spirit throughout Balochistan. Officers of all relevant departments and administrative institutions attended this important meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Agha Faisal said that there are clear instructions from Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti that all arrangements should be completed in the best, organized and timely manner on the occasion of Independence Day, therefore, all departments would immediately finalize the matters coming under their jurisdiction.

He also directed all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to hold flag hoisting ceremonies at the district level at the scheduled time and ensure punctuality at all times, while foolproof security arrangements should be made during the ceremonies along with provision of food, clean drinking water and other essential facilities for the officials on duty.

Quetta: Balochistan Secretary Communications and Works, Babar Khan in a high-level meeting reviewed the Uplifting of Rakhni Town and Remodeling of Rakhni Bazaar Project. Deputy Commissioner Barkhan joined the meeting via Zoom, while Chief Engineer Loralai-Zhob Zone Qazi Noor-ul-Haq, SE Barkhan and Musakhel Abdul Razzaq Mandokhail, Executive Engineer Barkhan Engineer Fazal Kareem, relevant consultants, and other officials were also present.

Officials briefed the meeting on construction activities, challenges faced, and the future course of action. It was noted that work is progressing to ensure timely completion, with no compromise on quality standards.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Babar Khan highlighted that following the establishment of the Koh-e-Suleman Division, Rakhni has gained special importance as the divisional headquarters.

He stressed that improvement of basic facilities, roads, drainage, bazaars, and urban infrastructure is essential. He directed authorities to accelerate the pace of work while maintaining quality, adding that wherever opportunities exist, work should be expedited.

He emphasized teamwork to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe. The Secretary also instructed the Deputy Commissioner Barkhan to form a joint committee to thoroughly examine every aspect of the project and eliminate shortcomings.

Babar Khan reiterated that the provincial government’s top priority is to modernize Rakhni city with wide roads, effective street lighting, quality bypasses, and organized spaces for shops and vendors in the central bazaar.

He pledged that ongoing development projects in Rakhni will be completed on time to provide relief to the people, fulfilling the vision of prosperity and development in underprivileged areas.

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday urged the doctors not to be a part of any process that causes difficulties or inconvenience to the poor and needy patients as the provision of timely and quality medical facilities to the public is the top priority of the government.

He said this while talking to a delegation of doctors’ organizations called on him here at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and apprised him of the problems facing the health sector in the province, professional issues facing doctors and various suggestions related to the improvement of medical facilities.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai were also present in the meeting.

The delegation included Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Quetta President Dr. Nadir Achakzai, Senior Vice President Dr. Kamyar Khan, General Secretary Dr. Shoaib Baloch, Young Doctors Association Balochistan Dr. Hafeez Mandokhel, Dr. Ali Jan, Dr. Adil, Dr. Muzammil, and Jamal Shah of Allied Health Organization.

While talking to the delegation, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, said that the government is taking serious steps to solve the problems being faced by the health sector and sustainable and effective reforms are being introduced in consultation with all stakeholders so that better medical facilities could be provided to doctors, medical staff and the public.

The Chief Minister said that for the first time in history, the current provincial government has recognized the professional services of doctors by giving them promotions on a large scale, the government is aware of the legitimate problems of doctors and all possible cooperation would be provided to resolve them.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that doctors are a highly respected segment of the society and are shouldering a great responsibility of protecting human lives.

He said that the government and the medical community would work together to make the health sector more efficient, transparent and people-friendly through mutual cooperation, trust and continuous consultation.

Quetta: Adviser to Chief Minister Balochistan on Environment and Climate Change Naseem-ur-Rehman Khan Mulakhel on Tuesday said that environmental protection and sustainable development are top priorities of the government.

He said this while talking to various delegations in his office. The Adviser said that a comprehensive and effective strategy is being implemented to address the environmental challenges facing the province such as air pollution, climate change, deforestation and loss of water resources.

He said that in light of the orders of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, innovative measures have been initiated to control industrial emissions, promote tree plantation campaigns and improve the environment in urban areas.

He said that in this regard, instructions have been issued to the relevant institutions to ensure strict implementation of environmental laws and indiscriminate action should be taken against violators.

Provincial Adviser Naseem-ur-Rehman Khan Mulakhel further said that environmental goals could not be achieved without public participation, therefore, awareness campaigns are being expanded to raise awareness among citizens adding that an eco-friendly lifestyle would be promoted with the cooperation of educational institutions, civil society and the media.

He reiterated the commitment that the government would continue to take all possible steps to provide a clean, green and safe environment for future generations and no negligence could be tolerated in achieving this goal.

On this occasion, the delegations informed the provincial adviser about the problems of their respective areas.

The provincial adviser assured to resolve the problems of all areas on priority basis.

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has announced that Quaid-e-Azam Library Quetta will be developed into one of country’s most modern and exemplary libraries within the next three months.

The announcement came after students raised concerns about the library’s facilities, prompting the Chief Minister to invite them to the CM Secretariat for a detailed meeting. During the session, Sarfraz Bugti listened to their issues, suggestions, and requirements, and issued immediate directives for implementation.

He ordered the establishment of a modern digital lab, provision of new editions of quality books across various disciplines, and activation of the cooling and solar systems to ensure a conducive study environment. Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the Balochistan government considers youth the central focus of its development policies, and it is the government’s responsibility to hear their voices directly.

He added that strengthening trust and communication between the youth and the state is essential for building a confident, capable, and progressive society. ‘Access to education, research, study, and modern knowledge is the fundamental right of our youth, and the government is taking practical steps to ensure it, ‘ Bugti said, reaffirming his commitment to equipping educational institutions and libraries across Balochistan with modern facilities.

Students welcomed the Chief Minister’s swift response and praised his education-friendly vision, describing the initiative as a practical reflection of his commitment to youth empowerment and academic development.

The delegation briefed the Chief Minister on challenges facing the health sector, professional issues confronting doctors, and proposals for improving medical facilities. Provincial Health Minister Bakh Muhammad Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai also attended the meeting.

He noted that for the first time in Balochistan’s history, doctors have been promoted on a large scale, recognizing their professional services.

He assured that the government is aware of doctors’ legitimate concerns and will extend full cooperation to address them.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that doctors are a highly respected segment of society, entrusted with the responsibility of saving lives.

He urged them not to engage in any activity that could cause hardship for poor and needy patients, stressing that timely and quality healthcare remains the government’s foremost priority. He added that the government and medical community will work together through mutual trust, cooperation, and continuous consultation to make the health sector more effective, transparent, and people-friendly.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for listening to their concerns, continuing the consultative process, and assuring positive progress on their legitimate demands.
