Gujrat: A two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop on the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), organized by the District Health Authority (DHA) Gujrat, concluded at the District Health Development Centre (DHDC).

According to official sources on Monday, the workshop was conducted under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Health Authority Gujrat, Dr Syed Ata-ul-Munim, to enhance the professional capacity of vaccination staff and strengthen the district’s immunization system.

The training was organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Punjab and the Directorate General Health Services, EPI Punjab.

District Health Officer (Preventive Services) Dr Syed Muhammad Aitazaz Ahmed, Deputy District Health Officers, District Superintendent Vaccination, Health Managers of Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, Health and Nutrition Supervisors and Assistant Vaccinators attended the workshop.

At the concluding session, Dr Syed Ata-ul-Munim distributed certificates among the participants and said that strengthening the capacity of vaccination staff would help improve routine immunization services and protect children against vaccine-preventable diseases in the district.

Dera ismail khan: Chairman, Board of Directors of the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Dera Ismail Khan, Naimatullah Khan, here on Mondau assumed the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.

Following the assumption of the additional responsibilities, Naimatullah Khan said the move would help ensure administrative continuity and further strengthen the company’s efforts to improve municipal services across the district.

Talking to reporter, he said that the efficient sanitation, and effective solid waste management remained the organization’s top priorities.

He reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing public service delivery through improved governance, transparency, and efficient utilization of available resources.

He said all officers and staff had been directed to perform their duties with dedication, professionalism, and accountability to ensure timely and quality services for the public

Naimatullah Khan said special attention would be given to improving cleanliness standards, addressing public complaints on a priority, and introducing reforms aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of the organization.

He expressed confidence that, with the cooperation of employees and support from the provincial government, WSSC Dera Ismail Khan would further improve its performance and provide better civic services to the residents of the district.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police carried out effective operations against criminals, drug peddlers, Gutka and Manipuri suppliers and other law violators from 29th June to 5th July, arrested a total of 111 accused on the orders of DIG Hyderabad Range and the leadership of SSP Shahzaib Chachar.

According to a weekly report issued by Spokesman district police on Monday, Police arrested 08 accused during criminal action, 06 robbers arrested in operations against robbery gangs.

Similarly, 35 drug peddlers were arrested in anti-narcotics drive. 06 accused were apprehended in theft cases, 33 accused held in connection with gutka and manipuri supply. While 7 accused held in connection with gambling and betting activities, and 16 suspects were arrested who were found involved in other offences.

Police in its multiple operations recovered 05 pistols along with 18 rounds pf ammunition were recovered during operations against illegal weapons.

During operations gutka and manipuri, police recovered 1245 manipuri packets, 17.733 gutka sachets, 11 sacks of manipuri raw material, with a total weight of 1102 k.g. Police also recovered 35 bottles of liquor, 33 liters of illicit liquor, 11 k.g and 67 grams of marijuana, 802 grams of poppy and 35 grams of ice (Methamphetamine).

Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousif Sheikh has directed that all arrangements for the 283rd Annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) be completed in a well-organized, timely and dignified manner to ensure that thousands of devotees visiting from across the country are provided with every possible facility.

He emphasized that negligence on the part of any department would not be tolerated and instructed all concerned departments to perform their responsibilities with close coordination and mutual cooperation. He further directed that contingency measures be finalized in advance to effectively deal with any emergency situation arising from the expected monsoon rains.

According to a handout, he expressed these views while presiding over an important meeting held at the culture rest house, Bhit Shah to review the arrangements for the 283rd Annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA). The meeting was attended by SSP Matiari Abdul Aleem Bullo, chairman town Committee Bhit Shah Syed Khawar Hussain Shah, the Gaddi Nasheen of the shrine Syed Mustafa Shah, Chief Administrator of the culture department Mukhtiar Abro, DHO Dr. Zahid, officers of various concerned departments, media representatives and other participants.

Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant departments to ensure timely completion of arrangements related to sanitation, electricity, drinking water, healthcare, traffic management, communications, rescue services, municipal services, parking, street lighting and all other essential facilities so that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the Urs.

SSP Abdul Aleem Bullo, while briefing the meeting on the security plan, said that foolproof security arrangements would be made throughout the Urs. Additional police personnel would be deployed at the shrine, parking areas and other sensitive locations, while additional force would also be called in from neighboring districts. He added that a comprehensive security plan would be fully implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow, the safety of devotees and the maintenance of law and order.

Chief Administrator of the Auqaf Mukhtiar Abro gave a detailed briefing on the cultural, literary, religious and administrative activities scheduled from the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony of the Urs.

The Gaddi Nasheen and representative of the shrine Syed Mustafa Shah said that the Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai carries the message of love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood. He urged all departments to work collectively to provide the best possible facilities to devotees. DHO Dr. Zahid also briefed the meeting on the health department’s preparedness.

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed the launch of ‘Ehsaas Be Zuban Sehat Gaari’ project to provide doorstep veterinary services to livestock farmers in remote, mountainous and underdeveloped areas across the province.

The proposed project carries an estimated cost of Rs1 billion, with Rs40 million allocated in the current Annual Development Programme (ADP) for its initial phase.

Under the initiative, 50 mobile veterinary clinic vehicles will be deployed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These mobile units will work in coordination with existing veterinary hospitals and dispensaries to ensure timely and quality animal healthcare services in rural areas where access to permanent veterinary facilities remains limited.

The mobile clinics will offer a wide range of services, including animal health examinations, treatment and provision of medicines, preventive vaccination, disease surveillance, deworming, artificial insemination, breeding services, veterinary extension activities, as well as training and awareness programmes for livestock farmers.

According to Director General Livestock Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Asal Khan, the Ehsaas Be Zuban Sehat Gaari project is expected to play a significant role in delivering modern veterinary services at the doorstep of livestock owners, ultimately improving animal health and enhancing productivity in the livestock sector.

Dera ismail khan: Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, the Assistant Commissioner Prova, accompanied by Traffic Police, conducted an inspection of passenger transport vehicles at Kalachi Wala to ensure compliance with the government-approved fare schedule.

During the operation, transporters found overcharging passengers were fined, while strict warnings were issued to ensure adherence to the notified fares.

The district administration said indiscriminate action against violators would continue to protect commuters from illegal fare overcharging.
