Lahore: The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab has successfully ensured the disbursement of Rs230 million in pending dues to 240 citizens across the province through timely and effective intervention.
According to a spokesperson, the recovered amounts included marriage grants, retirement benefits,
death grants, family pensions, group insurance, General Provident (GP) Fund payments, farewell grants, and other financial relief.
Taking prompt notice of the complaints, the Ombudsman Punjab issued directives to the relevant departments, resulting in successful recoveries and payments. As a result, Rs191.832 million was paid to 110 citizens as arrears, Rs9.950 million to 29 citizens as family pension, Rs1.935 million to seven citizens as death grants, Rs14.5 million to 57 citizens as marriage grants, Rs390,000 to eight citizens as financial relief, Rs10.039 million to 21 citizens as GP Fund payments, Rs575,000 to four citizens as group insurance, and Rs825,000 to four citizens as farewell grants.
The spokesperson said that the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab would continue its efforts to safeguard citizens’ rights and ensure the swift and hassle-free resolution of public grievances, in line with its mandate to provide prompt justice.
