Larkana: The 37th Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Cricket Tournament was held at Walid Mohalla Pakistan Cricket Board Ground, in which 126 teams from Sindh and Balochistan participated.
The final was played between Larkana’s Shah Abdul Latif and Sukkur’s Sindh Stars team. Batting first, Shah Latif Larkana scored 228 runs, setting a target of 229 runs for Sukkur Sindh Stars to win the final. In response, the Sindh Stars team could only manage 130 runs and lost by 98 runs. From Shah Latif, Mohsin played a brilliant innings of 83 runs and was awarded Man of the Match, while Raja Bhutto, Zohaib, and Babu took two wickets each.
The president of District Association Larkana Cricket Team, Kazim Ali Abbasi, former senator Safdar Ali Abbasi, and Rafi Ali Abbasi presented trophies and cash prizes to the winning team’s captain, Wasim Abbasi, and the runner-up team’s captain, Lala Tanveer.
On this occasion, Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi said, “First of all, I congratulate the winning team.” He added, “This tournament has been successfully running for 37 years, and it was started by my late brother Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi, who loved cricket very much.”
District Association Larkana Cricket Team president Kazim Ali Abbasi stated, “You won’t find an event like this anywhere else in Sindh, and we request the PCB to support this event at the national level.” He said, “There is a lot of cricket talent here, and the PCB should promote players from Dadu, Larkana, Sukkur, and Hyderabad and include them in the international team.”
Also present on the occasion were Sukkur Regional Cricket Association president Agha Javed, chief organizer Riaz Hussain Abbasi, Yad Khan Abbasi, Darab Khan Abbasi, and Manzoor Abbasi.
