LAHORE: At least eight people were killed and 1,359 others injured in 1,204 road Taccidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 600 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 759 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 693 drivers, 50 underage drivers, 152 pedestrians, and 522 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics showed that 226 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 264 persons, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Multan with 77 accidents and 85 victims, and at third Faisalabad with 74 accidents and 78 victims.
According to the data, 1,092 motorbikes, 77 auto-rickshaws, 121 motorcars, 22 vans, 12 passenger buses, 24 truck and 92 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
