92 percent beat system in UCs completed


Lahore: More than 92 percent implementation of beat system in union councils with digital mapping of 20 municipal committees has also been completed. This was informed by the officials during a meeting chaired by Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique at the Suthra Punjab Authority Office here on Thursday.



Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmed Mian and Suthra Punjab DG Umar Javed were present in the meeting, while MDs Suthra Punjab Agencies of all districts participated through video link. During the meeting, the digital mapping of beat system and micro plan status was reviewed.



Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafique while directing to complete 100 percent of digital mapping work within two days, said that digital mapping would improve monitoring of remote areas. He said that Field Monitoring Officers (FMOs) should visit the Union Council concerned on a daily basis. “Action will be taken against the underperforming FMOs”, he warned.



The provincial minister directing to arrange for waste collection announcements from megaphones on loader rickshaws in every area, said that special attention should be paid to cleaning the dust accumulated on the roadside after the rains. He urged that the system of action on complaints received on the helpline or app must be further strengthened.
