Astore: A meeting of the Revenue Field Staff was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Astore Muhammad Shoaib here Monday to review revenue-related matters across the district, including pending public cases, compensation claims, illegal encroachments on government land and market affairs. During the meeting, progress on various revenue matters was reviewed in detail.
Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Shoaib directed the concerned officers and field staff to ensure transparency, merit and the supremacy of law in resolving public issues and carrying out official responsibilities.
He directed that pending compensation cases involving the public should be disposed off on a priority basis and that all cases should be processed transparently after thorough scrutiny, so that affected people could be provided timely relief.
The Assistant Commissioner also took strict notice of illegal encroachments on government land and directed the concerned field staff to identify such encroachments and take indiscriminate action in accordance with the law. He made it clear that all available legal measures would be utilized for the protection of government land and removal of encroachments.
The meeting also reviewed the prices and quality of essential commodities in local markets and compliance with the official price list. The Assistant Commissioner directed the concerned officials to conduct regular market inspections, check the prices and quality of essential commodities, and take strict action in accordance with the law against shopkeepers who fail to display the official price list prominently, charge prices higher than the prescribed rates, or sell substandard or expired items.
Muhammad Shoaib said that provision of basic facilities to the public, timely resolution of their legitimate grievances and transparency in official affairs were among the key priorities of the district administration. He urged the Revenue Field Staff to perform their duties with responsibility and sincerity to address public complaints and resolve their issues.
He made it clear that negligence, lethargy or dereliction of duty would not be tolerated. All Patwaris and Revenue Field Staff were directed to ensure their attendance and remain available at their offices and relevant locations during prescribed working hours so that the public would not face unnecessary delays or difficulties.
The Assistant Commissioner further directed the concerned officers to regularly monitor all revenue-related matters and take effective measures to resolve issues concerning public interest on a priority basis.
