Sukkur: The District Health Office Sukkur organized an awareness walk, seminar and health education session at Taluka Hospital Rohri in connection with World Anti-Rabies Day here on Monday. The theme of the event was Stronger Together, One Health Approach- Human, Animal, Health System.
The awareness walk at THQ Hospital Rohri was led by Director Health Services Sukkur Dr. Farukh Bhunbhro, District Health Officer Sukkur Dr. Ali Gul Shah and Medical Superintendent THQ Hospital Rohri Dr. Amir Ali Sarhio.
A large number of doctors, paramedics and Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) participated in the awareness walk. The participants were carrying official banners inscribed with the World Anti Rabies Day and Stronger Together- Ending Rabies is Possible.
On the occasion, participants also raised various awareness slogans, including Vaccinate dogs, prevent rabies, Prevention of rabies is possible, and Wash the wound with soap for 15 minutes save a life.
The aim of the awareness walk was to create awareness among the public about prevention of rabies, immediate and proper first aid in case of dog bite, vaccination of dogs and the importance of cooperation between humans, animals and the health system.
