Abbottabad: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram chaired a meeting of the District Steering Committee for Education and reviewed the performance of government schools across the district.
The meeting reviewed teachers’ and students’ attendance, cleanliness, provision of basic facilities, development funds, ongoing development schemes, availability of water and electricity, school repairs and deployment of administrative staff.
Relevant officials briefed the meeting on the facilities available in schools and the measures required to address existing issues.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Education Department and Education Monitoring Authority officials to ensure quality education, provision of basic facilities and effective monitoring in government schools.
He stressed that issues related to water, electricity, repair and other essential facilities should be resolved on a priority basis.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed district administration officials to complete a survey of outsourced schools to assess their educational and administrative affairs and available facilities, and take necessary measures accordingly.
