Dera ismail khan: Assistant Commissioner (AC) Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday visited the main Temporary Water Rescue Point (TWRP) established along the Indus River to review rescue preparedness under the district’s Monsoon Emergency Plan.
During the visit, the assistant commissioner met Rescue 1122 personnel and inspected the overall rescue arrangements, safety measures and emergency resources deployed at the site to ensure prompt response during the monsoon season.
He also interacted with local boat owners, examined the safety equipment available on their boats and directed them to strictly ensure the use of life jackets during boating operations. He further instructed them to avoid overloading boats and comply with all safety guidelines issued by the district administration and Rescue 1122 to help prevent accidents.
Officials briefed the visiting officer that Rescue 1122’s water rescue teams remain on round-the-clock alert at temporary water rescue points along the Indus River to safeguard the lives and property of citizens throughout the monsoon season.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the district administration and Rescue 1122 to strengthen emergency preparedness and enhance public safety in flood-prone areas.
