AIG Syed Abbas Ahsan calls for people-friendly policing, improved tourist security in Hazara

Abbottabad: Additional Inspector General (IG) Headquarters Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Syed Abbas Ahsan visited Abbottabad, paid tribute to police martyrs and reviewed police facilities and public service delivery during a visit to Police Headquarters and the Police Facilitation Centre.



During the visit, the Additional IG paid homage to the martyred police personnel, laid a bouquet of flowers at their memorial and offered Fateha for the elevation of their ranks.



He later inspected Police Headquarters Abbottabad, including the Police Mess, Police Gym and other departments, and reviewed the facilities available to police personnel.



At the Police Facilitation Centre, District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan briefed him on the services provided to citizens. Syed Abbas Ahsan also reviewed the facilities available to the public at the centre.



Later, a meeting of senior police officers was held at the Regional Police Office Hazara under the chairmanship of the Additional IG Headquarters. During the meeting, DIG Hazara Nasir Mahmood Satti briefed him on the professional performance of Hazara Police, maintenance of law and order, crime prevention, strengthening of the policing system and measures to improve public services. Administrative and operational challenges faced by the police were also discussed.



Syed Abbas Ahsan directed police officers to ensure the provision of modern, effective and quality services to citizens in line with the vision of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid.



He stressed the need to make police services more public-friendly, resolve citizens’ complaints promptly and utilise all available resources to ensure timely justice in accordance with the law.



The Additional IG also directed the police to facilitate tourists visiting the Hazara region and take effective measures to ensure their safety and security. He emphasized maintaining police presence, guidance and assistance at tourist destinations and important highways to provide visitors with a safe, peaceful and pleasant environment.
