AJK minister orders improved patient care at Mirpur teaching hospital

Mirpur AJK Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Engineer Umair Naeem Khan has directed the administration of Divisional Headquarters Teaching Hospital Mirpur to further improve patient care, administrative efficiency and timely delivery of quality healthcare services.



During a visit to the hospital on Thursday, the minister reviewed ongoing reforms, administrative affairs, medical facilities and the overall standard of treatment. Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmed Raja briefed him on reform measures, medical services and the hospital’s overall performance.



The minister directed the administration to ensure that the ongoing reform programme produced tangible results and strengthened the hospital’s service-delivery mechanisms. He said quality healthcare was a basic public necessity and improving public services remained among the government’s priorities, stressing practical measures to enhance institutional performance and facilitate citizens in accessing essential services.



Umair Naeem Khan said patients should receive quality treatment in a dignified, courteous and convenient environment. He called for continued improvement in medical care, patient handling, administrative discipline and public facilitation. Dr. Zahid Ahmed Khan, Dr. Tariq Masood, Dr. Waseem Ahmed Khan, Dr. Rizwan Bostan, DMS Dr. Maria Zulfiqar, Dr. Owais Zahid, Dr. Adnan Marghoob and other doctors and hospital officials were present. The hospital administration also presented the minister with a commemorative shield.
