Malakand The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Malakand on Thursday organized a special ceremony to mark World Podcast Day 2026, focusing on the evolving role of journalism in the digital media landscape.
The event, organized by Assistant Professor Dr. Sajjad Ali, was held under the theme ‘The Power of the Journalist Podcast vs Algorithm Tutor.’ Dean of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Arab Naz and Dean of Arts and Humanities Professor Dr. Qaisar Khan attended the event as chief guests and addressed the students.
The speakers highlighted emerging challenges and opportunities facing modern journalism and emphasized the changing dynamics of media in the digital age. Chairman Department of Journalism Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, Dr. Jan Muhammad, Lecturer Masood Hassan and Lecturer Fidaullah also attended the ceremony.
Documentaries prepared by students were screened during the event, showcasing their creative and journalistic skills. The documentaries were appreciated by the participants, who commended the students for their efforts and engagement with contemporary media issues.
