Amir Muqam urges PTI, KP Govt to focus on governance, security

Islamabad

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam on Wednesday urged the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to focus on improving governance and addressing security challenges in the province.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing multiple challenges, including terrorism.

He maintained that federal government, law enforcement agencies and all relevant stakeholders were on the same page to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the province.

Amir Muqam also urged PTI leadership to avoid launching a long march, saying such a move could create law and order problems in the country.

Regarding political dialogue, he said, we are political people and there should be dialogue to resolve political matters.

Responding to a question, the minister alleged that the PTI leadership and the KP government had failed to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) aimed at eliminating terrorism from the province.

He stressed the need for effective and comprehensive implementation of the National Action Plan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its true spirit to address the security challenges facing the province.
