Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday arrested nine suspects, including three women, and recovered 118.15 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 50.6 million during seven operations conducted in different parts of the country.
According to an ANF spokesperson, 950 grams of methamphetamine (ice) was recovered from the baggage of a suspect travelling to Bahrain at Peshawar Airport.
In Karachi, ANF officials recovered 16 kg of ice soaked in ladies’ clothes from a parcel destined for Australia at a courier office.
During domestic drug interdiction operations, 45.6 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Khanuzai, District Pishin, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
Another 14.4 kg of opium was seized from a vehicle near a bridge on Charsadda Road, Peshawar, and a suspect was arrested.
In Charsadda, 9.6 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of three women near Hospital Road.
Meanwhile, 30 kg of opium was recovered near Killi Dawoodabad, District Chagai.
In an inter-provincial operation near the Motorway Toll Plaza at Islamabad Bus Terminal, police recovered 1.6 kg of ice from two suspects.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is underway.
