Another school van fire victim succumbs to injuries; funeral of Arham held in Murree

District

Murree: Seven-year-old student Arham Kaleem, who suffered critical burn injuries when his school transport vehicle plunged into a ditch and caught fire in Murree earlier this week, passed away during treatment.

He was shifted to the specialized Burn Unit of Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, after sustaining burn injuries covering more than 25 percent.

The young victim’s funeral prayer was offered at his native village in Bada Hotar on Saturday, which was attended by a large number of locals and reps from district administration. Earlier this week, a younger girl who was also a victim of the same incident died on Wednesday.

Mourning the tragic loss along with family members and community elders, district authorities reaffirmed their resolve to enforce stringent safety compliance and mechanical fitness standards across all public and private school transport vehicles to prevent future accidents.
