Anti Polio drive to starts from August 6

Larkana: A crucial meeting was held in the Court Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office Qambar, under the Deputy Commissioner Qambar Shahdadkot, Kamran Hussain Mushtaq, to finalize the arrangements for the polio campaign scheduled to commence from August 6 to August 13.



The meeting was attended by officials from relevant government departments and doctors, including Dr. Gulzar Ali Tunio, District Health Officer on Thursday.



On this occasion, Dr. Farid Lark (National Stop Officer), while briefed the participants, stated that there were a total of 72 Union Councils (UCs) in Qambar Shahdadkot district, out of which 16 UCs have a target of 142,807 children. Within this target, children under the age of ten would be administered anti-polio drops, while children aged between four months and ten years would be given injectable polio vaccine (IPV) for protection against the disease.



Deputy Commissioner Qambar Shahdadkot issued directives, said that all stakeholders and officials in the district must work together to make the polio booster dose campaign 100 percent successful, so that Qambar Shahdadkot district becomes polio-free. He further stated that any negligence or dereliction of duty in this campaign would absolutely not be tolerated. Addressing the people of the district, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to them to protect their precious little children by administering the drops in this polio booster dose campaign, saving them from lifelong disability.
