Chiniot: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell Chiniot has intensified efforts to curb violence, harassment and abuse against women, playing a proactive role in ensuring their safety and protection across the district.

According to official data, the cell received more than 600 applications during 2025. Of these, 265 cases related to domestic disputes were amicably resolved through reconciliation, saving families from disintegration. In addition, over 200 complaints concerning harassment, financial transactions and other issues were addressed, while more than 150 applications related to dowry disputes and child handover were processed to safeguard women’s legal rights.

To promote awareness and confidence among women, the cell organized seminars and awareness walks at educational institutions and public places.

In this regard on Sunday, while exclusively talking to reporter, District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif stated that Punjab Police is taking all possible measures to prevent domestic violence, harassment and abuse. He urged women to seek immediate assistance through the Women Safety App, Punjab Police Public App, or designated emergency helplines in case of any emergency.
