Rawalpindi: Central President of the All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA), Dr. Abrar Hussain Malik, has called for a review of the sealing and fines imposed on private educational institutions across Punjab in connection with Independence Day celebrations and tree plantation activities held during the summer vacations.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Dr. Abrar said that activities promoting national awareness, environmental responsibility and civic values can make a positive contribution to students’ character building and overall development. He noted that private educational institutions regularly support such initiatives as part of their broader educational and social responsibilities.
Dr. Abrar respectfully requested the provincial government and district education authorities to review the decisions regarding the sealing of private schools and the imposition of administrative fines, with a view to resolving the matter in a balanced and constructive manner.
He further appealed for the reopening of the affected institutions, including those in Rawalpindi Division, and requested that the imposed fines and related proceedings be reconsidered in light of the nature and purpose of the activities.
Dr. Abrar urged the government and private school managements to continue working together through a cooperative approach so that educational, national-awareness and environmental initiatives can be conducted in accordance with applicable rules and without disrupting the academic activities of students and institutions.
