Faisalabad: Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a colourful ceremony featuring a special photographic exhibition highlighting the heroes of the Pakistan Movement.
DG Faisalabad Development Authority Muhammad Asif Chaudhary was the chief guest, while Divisional Director Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Maqbool Ahmed Malik, academics, business personalities, civil society representatives, teachers and students attended the event.
Muhammad Asif Chaudhary inaugurated the photographic exhibition and took keen interest in rare and historic photographs of the heroes of the Pakistan Movement. He paid tribute to their sacrifices and appreciated the council’s efforts to preserve the country’s historical heritage for future generations.
Addressing the ceremony, he said Independence Day provided an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of national heroes and renew the commitment to Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, security and stability. He urged youth to follow Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline and contribute to the country through hard work, honesty and responsibility.
Later, the chief guest and other participants cut an Independence Day cake. Students presented national songs, while a student’s violin performance of patriotic melodies was also appreciated. The DG awarded him a cash prize in recognition of his performance.
Maqbool Ahmed Malik said the exhibition aimed to acquaint the younger generation with the history of the Pakistan Movement and the sacrifices of national heroes.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, security and stability, with participants reaffirming their commitment to national unity and development.
