Attock Police seize over 10 kg of hashish, arrest suspect in inter-provincial smuggling bust

Attock: Attock Khurd Police have foiled an alleged inter-provincial drug smuggling attempt, seizing more than 10 kilograms of hashish and arresting a suspect during a checkpoint operation, police said on Saturday.



The operation was conducted under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Khanzada Shahroze as part of an ongoing campaign against narcotics trafficking. During routine checking at the Search Park checkpoint in Attock Khurd, police stopped a speeding rickshaw and recovered more than 10 kilograms of hashish concealed in the vehicle’s storage compartment.



The driver, identified as Muhammad Aftab, son of Muhammad Tahir and a resident of Lachi tehsil in Kohat district, was arrested at the scene. Police registered a case against the suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act and launched further investigations into the alleged smuggling network.



District Police Officer (DPO) Sardar Mawara Khan praised the police team for the successful operation, reaffirming the department’s commitment to combating drug trafficking. He said Attock Police would continue indiscriminate action against narcotics dealers and smugglers to protect young people from the harmful effects of drugs, adding that all offenders would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
