Attock: The Wildlife Department Attock has stepped up its campaign against illegal hunting, imposing fines totaling Rs213,000 during a series of enforcement operations conducted across different parts of the district.
The crackdown was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Shahzaib Khurshid on Wednesday, with teams targeting multiple tehsils known for hunting violations. In Jand, authorities imposed a hefty Rs120,000 fine for the illegal hunting of partridges, reflecting a zero-tolerance approach toward wildlife crimes.
Further action was taken in Attock and Hazro, where violators were penalized Rs55,000 for unlawful hunting activities. Meanwhile, in Fateh Jang, officials seized illegal hunting nets and imposed an additional Rs38,000 fine for unauthorized pigeon hunting.
Wildlife officials issued a stern warning, announcing that no compensation will be accepted after January 31, and that FIRs will be registered directly against offenders. The department reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding wildlife and ensuring the strict enforcement of conservation laws across the district.
