Rawalpindi: ‘The Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, organized a painting competition titled ‘Azadi Kay Rang’ and a prize distribution ceremony at the Rawalpindi Arts Council in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
Young artists and students showcased their creative talent, highlighting their love for Pakistan, the importance of freedom, national unity and patriotism through their artwork.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab Shazia Rizwan and State Bank of Pakistan Rawalpindi Chief Manager Rizwan Khalil Shamsi attended the event as guests of honour. Director Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, Muhammad Shakoor, artists and people from different walks of life were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Shazia Rizwan said Independence Day was a day to renew the nation’s commitment to Pakistan. She said the youth were the future of the country and arts could play an important role in promoting patriotism, national awareness and positive thinking among them.
She appreciated the creative abilities of the young artists and said Pakistani artists had always reflected the country’s culture, traditions and national sentiments through their work.
The participants depicted various aspects of Pakistan’s independence, national unity, culture, the national flag, patriotism and a bright future for the country through their paintings. Their artwork was highly appreciated by the audience.
Prizes and certificates were distributed among the outstanding participants. Shazia Rizwan congratulated the successful artists and expressed best wishes for their bright future.
Director Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, Muhammad Shakoor, said the competition aimed to engage the younger generation with the arts while promoting patriotism and a sense of national responsibility. He said the council would continue organizing positive and creative activities for artists and young people.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the progress, prosperity, stability and security of Pakistan.
