Blind murder case solved, woman arrested over luring victim into honey trap

Faisalabad: Samanabad police have claimed to solve blind murder case of a young man by tracing the accused involved in an alleged honey trap and arrested a woman on charge of luring the victim to the crime scene.



Police spokesman said that the murder of Usman in Samanabad area was initially shrouded in mystery but subsequent investigations revealed that the killing stemmed from an old enmity.



He said that the accused allegedly used a woman to befriend the victim through social media before luring him into a planned ambush.



The investigation revealed that the woman, identified as Seemab Bibi, established contact with the victim through social media after being introduced by members of the rival group. She later invited Usman to a designated location through WhatsApp.



He said that when the victim reached the spot, three unidentified armed assailants, who had already been lying in wait, opened fire on him due to previous enmity, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene.



Station House Officer (SHO) Samanabad police station Talash Abbas successfully traced the accused by using technical and digital investigative resources.



As a result, police arrested Seemab Bibi, who had allegedly played a key role in executing the honey trap that led to the murder.



The police started further interrogation of the arrested woman to gather additional evidence and identify the remaining accused involved in the crime while raids are being conducted to arrest the three armed accomplices who are still at large, he added.
