Lodhran: 60 farmers on Sunday were declared successful for Agricultural tube wells solarization project,marking a significant step toward energy efficiency and cost savings for farmers across the province.

According to Water Management official sources,the beneficiaries were selected through computerized balloting process.

The allotment letters would be issued to successful farmers and they could get the solar system through registered companies.

Under the first phase of the project,8,000 agricultural tube wells across Punjab will be converted to solar power.

The Punjab government has announced generous subsidies to support farmers in adopting solar energy including Rs.500,000 subsidy for a 10 kW solar system,Rs.7,50,000 subsidy for a 15 kW solar system and Rs.one million subsidy for a 20 kW solar system.

The project was expected to play a crucial role in enhancing agricultural productivity, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and promoting sustainable farming practices in Punjab.

Mirpur: A delegation of Jammat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan led by its Ameer Engineer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman called on President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry at the Jammu Kashmir House in the federal metropolis on Sunday, it was officially said.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest and the prevailing political situation in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were discussed in detail, the AJK President's office said Sunday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Chaudhry appreciated the JI's significant contribution to the Kashmir cause and expressed the hope that the party under the leadership of Eng. Rehman would continue to play its role in highlighting the Kashmir cause domestically and internationally.

The AJK president also presented a shield of honor to the JI chief for his and his party's peerless contribution and services in promoting the Kashmir issue. On this occasion, the JI chief assured the president of his party's continued support for the Kashmir cause. He said that the JI would observe Kashmir Day all across the country, including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan, to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

Engineer Rehman, on the occasion, lauded President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry's pivotal role in highlighting the Kashmir issue at the global level. The JI delegation was comprised of former Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turabi, Secretary General Raja Jahangir, Sagheer Qamar, and others.

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of 18 security forces personnel who embraced Shahadat while fighting terrorists in Kalat and Harnai areas. Denouncing the heinous acts of state terrorism by miscreants, the AJK president commended the Pakistani armed forces' significant contribution and sacrifices in defending the homeland.

He said that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan army in its epic struggle to weed out terrorism and terrorists acting on foreign agendas. Paying eulogizing tributes to the martyrs, he expressed the optimism that the Pak army would thwart the enemy's nefarious designs aimed at fomenting trouble in the country. The president, Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, also extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the martyrs' families.

Multan: In its ongoing efforts to ensure public health safety, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) took strict action against food safety violations in Multan.

Following the instructions of the PFA Director General, food safety teams inspected a papad factory and a restaurant in the Shah Rukn-e- Alam Colony area.

During the inspections, the authorities discovered 150 kilograms of adulterated spices and 50 kilograms of prohibited ingredients, all of which were promptly disposed. The papad production unit was fined Rs 50,000 for the use of untraceable ingredients in its products. Additionally, the factory was found storing finished papads on the ground, raising serious hygiene concerns.

A restaurant in the same area was fined Rs 20,000 for failing to provide a clean water analysis report, while further violations were noted, including the storage of food in unhygienic freezers and the presence of rusted machinery.

In total, food business owners were penalized with fines amounting to Rs 70,000 for not adhering to food safety regulations. The PFA has made it clear that strict actions will be taken against those who compromise food quality, especially when it comes to children's favorite foods.

The public was urged to report any food-related concerns by calling the toll-free helpline 1223.

Faisalabad: The Muslim Students League (MSL) organised a bike rally here on Sunday to express solidarity with the Kashmir brethren against Indian atrocities.

A large number of students participated in the rally which commenced from Chenab Chowk and, after passing through various roads, culminated at District Council Chowk. The participants chanted slogans such as 'Kashmir will become Pakistan', 'Kashmir is our lifeline' and 'We will reclaim our lifeline at any cost'.

Holding Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, the attendees expressed their unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. Throughout the rally, the air echoed with slogans of 'Takbeer', while national and Kashmiri flags were waved high.

Engineer Haris Dar, Central Leader MSL Pakistan, while addressing the rally participants, strongly condemned India's oppression in occupied Kashmir. He said that no amount of brutality could suppress the Kashmiri people's struggle for freedom. He urged the international community to take notice of India's violation against human rights and play its role in granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination. He appealed to Pakistani government to take more effective diplomatic steps in support of Kashmiris and highlight the Kashmir issue at global forums with high strength.

Muhammad Haris, President MSL Faisalabad, Umar Abbas, President Muslim Kids Pakistan, Waqar-ul-Islam and other leaders also addressed the rally,

Multan: The Agriculture Department organized a special meeting to formulate an advisory for wheat crops in irrigated and rain-fed areas of the province.

Experts conducted a detailed review of wheat conditions in both regions and developed recommendations accordingly. Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Sahu chaired the meeting. He said that separate advisories have been prepared for irrigated and rain-fed wheat. He emphasized that all possible resources and channels are being utilized to provide farmers with these guidelines.

Considering the current weather conditions, advisories are being issued to wheat farmers to ensure better crop management. Field activities of the Agriculture Department are being intensified to guide farmers on best agricultural practices. Additionally, special coordination with the Irrigation Department has been made to ensure the timely availability of canal water for wheat crops.

The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Agriculture Task Force Punjab Muhammad Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Director Generals of Agriculture Chaudhry Abdul Hameed, Naveed Ismat Kahloon, Dr. Abdul Qayyum, and other officials.

Dera ismail khan: One person was killed in a collision between a car and a motorcycle near Attock Petrol Pump on Dera Ismail Khan Bhakkar Road.

The rescue 1122 medical team shifted the dead body to District Headquarters Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Riaz resident of village Rora Tehsil Kulachi.

The police registered the case in the police station.
