Hyderabad:The 4th annual passing out parade and Parents' Day of Bakhtawar Cadet College for Girls was held at Cadet College on Thursday, Chairman Board of Governors and Air Vice Marshal Aamir Shehzad (SI) M attended the ceremony as chief guest.

Principal of the college, Dr Farida Shaikh, presented the report on the annual performance of the college and thanked the guests. Addressing the occasion Principal said that it is state of pleasure that Fourth Passing Out Parade and Parents' Day are being celebrated at Cadet College.

She said that the cadets of Bakhtawar Cadet College have shown excellent performance in the field of education. Principal informed that Cadet Sania Gul has secured the first position in Group Engineering of Shaheed Benazirabad Board Annual Examinations, Cadet Alishba Iqbal has secured first position in Pre-Medical while Cadet Azhar has secured first position in Matriculation and cadet Hina Akbar has also secured third position in the matriculation examination.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Aamir Shehzad (SI) M said that these cadets will become leaders of the country in the future. He said that the future of Pakistan is in safe hands, Chief guest said this college is a place of pride for Pakistan and added that teachers and parents have an important role in the success of cadets.

Later, Chief Guest and Dr Farida Sheikh distributed certificates and shields to 400 cadets passed out from the college. Later, Chief Guest also inaugurated the Science Exhibition and Bhittai Open Air Theater for cadets and also planted a saplings in the college park.

Deputy Commissioner Shehryar Gul Memon and Officers of various departments, cadets and parents of Cadets participated in large numbers.

Hyderabad:Sindh Minister for Energy and Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced the launch of the Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP) aimed at providing affordable electricity to low-consumption households. Speaking at a meeting held at Shahbaz Hall, Hyderabad, the minister said that 0.5 million families would receive solar systems under the initiative, fulfilling a key promise of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's manifesto.

He said that under the project, households will receive a solar kit comprising a solar panel, three bulbs, a fan and a battery for a nominal charge of Rs 6,000. He added that the solar kits will be distributed among families identified through the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

The minister stated that the distribution process would be transparent and managed through committees at the union council and district levels, comprising deputy commissioner, representatives from local government, NGOs and party leaders.

In addition, the Sindh government plans to introduce solar system loans for high-consumption households and integrate solar energy solutions into new housing projects for flood-affected areas.

Nasir Hussain Shah highlighted the partnership with the World Bank to build over 2.1 million homes for flood affectees across Sindh, with solar systems incorporated into these houses.

"This is the largest housing project globally, aiming to provide roofs to nearly 10 million people. So far, 350,000 houses have been completed, and work on 800,000 more is underway," the minister shared. He added that solar systems will also be provided in deserts, Kohistan and other such areas which were off-grid.

The minister lauded Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's leadership, noting that PPP remains committed to serving the people of Pakistan through initiatives that address their fundamental needs.

Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmad Memon told the meeting that a committee will be constituted at the district level through which the delivery of this solar energy kit will be carried out in an efficient manner.

The party leaders also presented their suggestions to make the process of solar system kits and house construction more fair in their respective areas.

The representative of 'Hands' told the meeting that the Sindh government was also launching a mobile application through which all the data related to the solar home kit received by the deserving families will be collected so that the process can be improved.

Dir lower:Rescue 1122 Training Wing Team here on Thursday organized a comprehensive one-day first aid and fire safety training for police personnel at Police Lines.

The training included practical demonstrations on essential emergency response skills, such as blood flow control, CPR, fracture management, fire safety, and various techniques for transferring patients during emergencies.

The team also provided guidance on effective methods to control or reduce fire in case of incidents.

Speaking on the occasion, the spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Lower Dir emphasized the importance of equipping every individual with basic emergency response skills for creating a safer society and ensuring immediate control of accidents. He highlighted the role of Rescue 1122 in fostering preparedness and contributing to community safety.

The training aimed to enhance the emergency response capabilities of police personnel, enabling them to respond effectively during critical situations.

Wah cantt:An alleged inter-district car lifter was killed in an encounter with the Taxila police, the police have said.

According to a police spokesman, the car lifters opened fire on a police party near Nehar stop area in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, the accused, identified as Musa Khan, who was involved in dozens of car theft cases in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Lahore was shot dead while his accomplice managed to flee from the scene, leaving behind a stolen car.

The spokesman said that when the police party signaled a car to stop during a snap check, the accused opened fire on the police and tried to escape.

The car stolen from the same area one day ago was recovered during the operation, he added.

Peshawar:Zaitullah Khan Mohmand, a native of Baizai in the Mohmand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE), a prestigious and globally recognized assessment in the field of veterinary science.

Faisalabad:A delegation of under-training officers at the 42nd Mid-Career Management (MCM) Course at NIPA Islamabad called on Commissioner Maryam Khan, here on Thursday.

The Commissioner welcomed the officers at her office and informed them about the historical, cultural, industrial and geographical aspects of the Faisalabad division.

The Commissioner told them that 17 electric buses will be on the roads from the coming August in Faisalabad city.

She said that a campus of Divisional Public School (DPS) is also being established in FDA City. She informed about anti-encroachment operations across the city including eight bazaars of Ghanta Ghar Chowk. First time in the district's history, all the eight bazaars of the chowk have been made vehicle-free. The shopkeepers and buyers are being provided with quality parking facilities outside the bazaars, she added.

The Commissioner said that timely completion of development of public welfare projects is a priority. She said that efforts are underway to make the departments and authorities' corruption free.

She said that the general bus stand is being revamped, Lyallpur food street will be established in the city while special focus is on providing clean drinking water to the citizens.

She said that steps are also being taken to improve the health sector. A commemorative shield was also presented to the group leader by the Commissioner.
