Larkana: General body meeting of Gomai Bai Ladies Club called in Larkana and expenses for the year 2024-25 also presented during the meeting on Sunday.

On this occasion, General Secretary Sakina Gad told the meeting that the work of the building received by the Deputy Commissioner was done from the club's expense, apart from them, the old gate was repaired and painted, new crockery equipment and staff salaries were done. Also done from the club members' fees are maintenance of the gym, International Women's Day, Milad Conference, International Children's Day, providing school uniforms to the children of Government Girls Primary School, Ali Goharabad, Sweet Home. Helping children, helping children of special education, helping poor women with dowry, removing handcuffs, giving wheelchairs to the poor are all done by the conscious women of Gomibai with their personal expenses and heart.

A special package is given in Razaman Sharif, a free medical camp supported by MS and DHO Larkana. During the meeting, President Farida Pechu thanked the guests and welcomed the new members to join. In the meeting, Hamida Khaskhaili, Fakhrul Nasa Khaskhaili, Puri Chandni, Zakia Pirzado, Sabiha, Pirzado, Sabiha Soomro, Sonia Mushtaq, Rozeena Jatoi, Shaima Ahuja, Jahan Ara Sheikh, Farzana Qureshi, Dr. Dayali Gul, Public Health School of LHV, Chandaka. Doctors, respected families of Larkana and other women participated in large numbers.

At the end of the meeting, a discussion was held in which famous singer Sir Wikli graced the event, during which women danced on cultural and Sufi songs and the music continued late into the night.

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Police presented challans against 185 drug dealers and smugglers including 10 women in 2024 who were sentenced by the courts while 332 such criminals received different prison terms during last two years, said a police spokesman.

He informed that most of the convicted drug dealers during interrogation revealed that they were supplying drugs to the students of educational institutions and youth.

The spokesman said that the criminals were also imposed fines amounting to over Rs 21 million.

A female international drug smuggler namely Beenish alias Mona was convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 500,000.

He further informed that the highest number of sentences was given in the cases of Potohar division, while the performance of Rattaamral police in this regard remained excellent in the division.

A drug dealer, Waqar netted by Taxila police station with 10 kg hashish was sentenced to 20 years in prison. A drug peddler, Sarfaraz arrested by Rawat police was sentenced to 16 years in prison as police recovered 1530 grams hashish and 430 grams ice drug from his possession.

The spokesman informed that Rawalpindi district Police registered 2500 cases against drug peddlers and smugglers arrested from different areas in 2024.

More than 1500 kg hashish, over 50 kg heroin, more than 20 kg opium, 5.5 kg ice drug and over 15,000 liters alcohol were recovered from drug peddlers last year.

Superintendent of Police, Investigation, Divisional SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, Investigating officers and the DSP Legal team on the directives of City Police Officer, Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani are working hard to ensure conviction of arrested accused.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said that the conviction of the drug dealers is a significant achievement and the crackdown against drug dealers who are playing with the future of the youth would continue.

Multan: Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan inspected the under-construction Dorana Langana and Lutfabad health clinics here on Sunday. Talking on the occasion, he said the Health Clinics were a revolutionary initiative by Punjab Chief Minister. The work on 188 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics was in progress at a brisk pace across the division, with the provision of modern medical facilities and advanced equipment at each centre. Commissioner Khan emphasized that Deputy Commissioners had been tasked with ensuring strict monitoring of these Basic Health Units to maintain high standards. Briefing on the progress, Executive Engineer (Buildings) Muhammad Haider revealed that out of the 35 planned clinics in Multan City and Sadr areas, 15 units had been completed. Furthermore, 11 of these clinics had already been handed over to the Health department.

Peshawar: : Following the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali, a significant consignment of emergency medicines has been dispatched to Upper Kurram, stated Secretary Health Adeel Shah on Sunday.

The medicines have been handed over to the Medical Superintendent (MS) of Parachinar to effectively manage the emergency situation, Secretary Health Adeel Shah confirmed.

A total of 4,000 kilograms of medicines worth 5 million PKR are being transported through two flights of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's MI-17 helicopter, he added.

Due to persistent road blockages and extreme cold weather, the demand for medicines in Kurram has significantly increased, explained Secretary Health Adeel Shah.

The MS of Parachinar had previously informed the authorities about the anticipated shortage of medicines, prompting a timely response from the Health Department to ensure the provision of medicines before any crisis, he noted.

In addition to emergency supplies, routine medicines are also being dispatched via helicopter for both Upper and Lower Kurram, confirmed Secretary Health Adeel Shah.

Sargodha: Payments process of Benazir Income Support Program under the recent released tranche of December 2024 has reached 40.07 % completion in Sargodha District .

Deputy Director BISP Sargodha Madam Raazia Asim informed reporter on Sunday that a total of 63,019 deserving beneficiaries out of 157,268 so far received their payments including out of total 12,700 registered women beneficiaries in Bhulwal,3056 beneficiaries have been taken Rs 10,500 each, whereas 10,861 out of 38404 in Bhera,3,129 out of 20,651 in Kotmomin,10,189 out of 12,430 in Sahiwal,27,344 out of 68,537 in Sargodha, 7,962 out of 16,309 in Shah purr and 7,535 out of 15,780 beneficiaries in Sillanwali.

She assured that the remaining beneficiaries would get their payments soon.

She also informed that 11 camp site were set up across the district and it's tehsils to facilitate the distribution.

She herself monitoring the payments process by visiting payments centre on daily basis to ensure smooth process,she concluded.
