Hyderabad: Besant Hall Cultural Centre (BHCC) organized a programme in honour of renowned writer Abdul Hameed Sindhi on Saturday

The Director Besant Hall, Sobia Ali Shaikh in her welcome address said that it is honour for her to organize a tribute programme for famous writer.

She lauded the contribution of the Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan team particularly its General Secretary Wahid Kandhro who was officiating literary sessions on the Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan platform.

Administrative Officer BHCC and grandson of Hammed Sindhi Salman Arshad Hameed shared various aspects of the life of Hameed Sindhi while his son Arshad Hameed recalled his memories with his father and termed it a big asset.

He said that Hameed Sindhi was the history of Sindhi Literature and the founder of Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan.

Secretary General Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan Wahid Kandhro said that the literary work of Hameed Sindhi would be remembered for a long time.

He said that Hameed Sindhi provided a literary platform to many famous writers including revolutionary poet Shaikh Ayaz and today's literary festivals are the testimony of Hameed Sindhi's untiring literary work..

He said that despite son of Deputy Collector Hameed Sindhi never considered him a bureaucrat and dedicated his life for the sake of literature.

Ustad Iqbal on the occasion said that although he was not a literary person but a fan of Hameed Sindhi.

Writer Nafees Nashad described his memories with Hameed Sindhi and said that as he was the publisher of a Quarterly magazine and got authored fiction from Hameed Sindhi.

Journalist Niaz Panhwar talked about publishing creative work of Hameed Sindhi after his death including articles and columns which he wrote for daily Kawish,

He said that in 60's decade so many literary magazines were published but few magazines received applause from readers including 'Rooh Rihan'

Taj Joyo on the occasion shed light on the contribution of 'Rooh Rihan' Magazine on movement carried in against one-unit.

He quoted the sayings of Qamar Shahbaz and Shaikh Ayaz in which they said that magazines like Rooh Rihan infused a new vigour among them.

Eminent Broad caster Naseer Mirza and Shams ul Haq Memon also spoke on the occasion and eulogized the literary contribution of Hameed Sundhi.

Multan: A one-day workshop under the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Women University to improve leadership among teachers is scheduled to be held on January 20. According to university spokesperson, the event would involve faculty members from all departments and QEC members. The workshop aims to enhance leadership skills and improve the professional capabilities of QEC members. It will also provide an opportunity to faculty members share their experiences and insights. Department heads have been directed to submit the names of selected faculty and other members to the Quality Enhancement Cell and ensure their participation in the workshop.

Peshawar: : An important meeting attended by the KP Govt spokesman, Chief Secretary and IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, senior civil and police officers here Sunday decided to take strict indiscriminate action against the miscreants in Kurram district.

The spokesman of KP Government in a statement here said that the state was standing with the peaceful people, and cruel elements would be brought to justice.

The spokesman said that action against a handful of miscreants in the affected areas of Kurram was inevitable, and that the peace agreement would be implemented as per law and Pakhtuns traditions.

The security forces would be present in aid of police and civil administration as the Govt feared an entrance of miscreants among the peaceful elements and that later would be separated from the former to save them from losses.

The spokesman said that best alternate arrangements were made for the people of affected areas and the Govt has requested both the parties to help law enforcement agencies in identification of the miscreants.

The spokesman said that peace agreement was signed during a grand jirga as per pashtoon traditions to ensure peace in the area, however nefarious attempt was made by the miscreants to sabotage the peace agreement.

The Deputy Commissioner Kurram, aid convoy and personnel of securty forces were targeted by the miscreants and DC was critically wounded.

The spokesman appealed people of the affected areas to extend full cooperation with security forces to restore peace quickly there.

The spokesman said that people of Kurram wanted peace and respected the peace agreement.

He said that Govt has made sincere efforts to restore peace in the affected area through peaceful means and abide by the peace agreement.

Peshawar: : Unknown miscreants on Sunday detonated an IED near a police van in Bannu, however, fortunately, the police personnel remained unhurt in the incident. According to police, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Cantt police station, where a police mobile vehicle was on its routine patrol when targeted with a remote-controlled explosive device. No casualties resulted from the blast. After the incident, the police cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation. A police van was partially damaged in the blast.

Lakki marwat: District Police Officer Lakki Marwat Muhammad Jawad Ishaq visited the villages of Barkhikarwana and Khairukhel, the hometowns of the police personnel martyred in the firing by terrorists.

Condolences were offered to the families of martyred constable Habib-ur-Rehman, constable Khan Bahadur and Hikmatullah and Fateha was offered for the high ranks of the martyrs.

He assured the families of martyred constables that the killers would be traced and brought to justice as soon as possible.

Talking to the heirs of the martyrs, the District Police Officer said that the police martyrs have attained the high rank of martyrdom by making great sacrifices for the country and the nation.

He said that when these defenders of the nation sacrifice their lives for their soil and people, they are not dead, they are alive, and their services are always remembered by living nations.
