Chiniot DC inspects Sargodha road, orders lasting rainwater drainage solution


Chiniot: Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan on Saturday inspected Sargodha Road and directed the relevant departments to implement a permanent rainwater drainage system, emphasizing coordinated efforts to improve urban infrastructure and prevent water-logging during the monsoon season.



Accompanied by Highway Division officer Muhammad Ahmed, WASA Managing Director Muhammad Rafi, Municipal Committee Chief Officer Muhammad Arif, Deputy Director Development Dr. Naveed and other officials, the deputy commissioner reviewed the condition of the road, drainage arrangements and civic facilities. She inspected several locations and instructed departments to resolve infrastructure issues through close coordination.



Ayesha Rizwan stressed the need for a durable and efficient drainage network on Sargodha Road and ordered regular cleaning of drains and sewer lines to eliminate recurring complaints of rainwater accumulation. She also directed all concerned agencies to remain on high alert during and after rainfall, ensuring prompt water clearance and advance preparedness for any emergency situation.



The deputy commissioner instructed departments to complete all road improvement, drainage and sanitation works within the stipulated timeframe and according to prescribed standards to provide better transport and civic services to residents. She warned that negligence in addressing public issues would not be tolerated and called for efficient performance from all departments.
