Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday took strict notice of the tragic coal mine accident in Surranj and sought an immediate report from the Mines and Minerals Department.
He also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the accident and extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the deceased miners.
He prayed that Allah Almighty may forgive the deceased, grant them a high position in His mercy and grant patience to the bereaved families.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the Mines and Minerals Department to conduct a complete, transparent and impartial inquiry into the incident to determine the causes of the accident and submit a detailed report immediately.
He clarified that if any negligence or violation of safety regulations is found during the investigation, strict action will be taken against those responsible as per the law.
The Chief Minister directed that all necessary steps be taken to provide all possible assistance to the affected families.
He said that the protection of the lives of miners is the top priority of the government and strict implementation of safety standards and mining laws should be ensured in coal mines across the province.
Chief Minister reiterated the resolve that no compromise would be made on the protection of human lives and effective steps would be taken to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
