Bahawalpur: A project for improvement and beautification of Chishtian Bazaar was inaugurated here on Friday as part of Punjab Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s people-friendly vision aimed at providing citizens with better, organized and quality civic facilities.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Division,Irfan Kathia inaugurated the project.
Member National Assembly Ehsan-ul-Haq Bajwa, Regional Police Officer(RPO) Bahawalpur Division Ghazi Salahuddin, Deputy Commissioner(DC) Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah,District Police Officer(DPO) Muhammad Imran,Assistant Commissioner Chishtian and other relevant officers were also present.
During the inauguration ceremony,officials briefed the commissioner on the bazaar improvement project,ongoing and proposed development works and facilities being provided to citizens.
Reviewing the progress of the project,Commissioner Irfan Kathia directed the concerned departments to focus on the improvement and beautification of the bazaar,cleanliness,traffic management and other administrative matters to provide citizens and traders with a better environment and improved facilities.
He said that,in line with the vision of Punjab CM,Maryam Nawaz Sharif, measures were being taken across the province to facilitate the public, improve and organize markets and enhance the beauty of urban areas.
He added that the establishment of Sahulat Bazaars at the tehsil level and measures to ensure the availability of quality essential commodities at affordable prices were also part of the Punjab government’s people-friendly policies.
Commissioner Irfan Kathia said the primary objective of development projects was to provide better civic facilities to the public.
He directed the relevant departments to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining quality and aesthetic standards, with particular focus on cleanliness and improvement of basic facilities in the bazaar.
DC Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah said all relevant departments were actively working to improve civic facilities across the district and ensure effective implementation of government development initiatives.
He said the Chishtian Bazaar improvement project was an important step in this regard and would provide citizens and traders with a better environment and improved facilities.
