Bahawalpur: Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia has directed the concerned authorities to ensure swift, transparent and merit-based implementation of the Punjab government’s flagship programme, ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar,’ launched under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He directed that the scrutiny of all eligible and deserving applicants successful in the balloting process be completed promptly and that the allotment of agricultural land should not be delayed under any circumstances. He issued these directions while chairing a meeting convened to review progress on the programme. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza attended the meeting, while Deputy Commissioners of Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan participated through video link.
The meeting reviewed various stages of the programme, scrutiny of beneficiaries, allotment of agricultural land, transfer of possession, financial assistance and the completion of related documentation. Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia directed the concerned officials to ensure complete transparency, merit and strict compliance with legal requirements at every stage of the programme. He emphasized that special care must be taken to ensure that its benefits reach genuinely deserving beneficiaries. He further directed the relevant departments to complete all procedural and administrative matters within the stipulated time frame through effective coordination and a comprehensive administrative strategy.
The meeting also decided to constitute a special committee to ensure effective implementation, continuous monitoring and timely completion of the programme. The committee will regularly review progress, identify obstacles in implementation and recommend immediate measures to resolve issues affecting the programme. The commissioner expressed his resolve that all available resources would be utilised to ensure effective implementation of the initiative and facilitate deserving families. He added that the performance of the departments would be monitored continuously to ensure timely delivery of benefits to eligible applicants.
