Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Nauman Yousaf on Monday visited Government Elementary Girls School Samanabad, Government Girls High School Shadman and Government Girls School Wahdat Colony and reviewed ongoing development works aimed at improving infrastructure in the educational institutions.
The Commissioner inspected the construction of new classrooms and additional washrooms and reviewed the quality of ongoing works. CEO Education Authority Lahore, along with engineers, briefed him about the construction standards and progress on the development projects.
The briefing was informed that new classrooms and additional washrooms were being constructed at 73 schools across Lahore according to the number of students enrolled in each institution. School administrations, school councils and sub-engineers were monitoring the construction activities on a daily basis, the officials added.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf inspected the quality of work being carried out in the under-construction classrooms and directed the concerned officials to ensure that students faced no inconvenience during the construction process. He also ordered that the under-construction portions of the schools be made completely safe and properly secured for students and staff. He directed the authorities to ensure that all development works were completed according to prescribed quality standards and within the stipulated deadlines.
The Commissioner said that, under the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, new classrooms and additional washrooms were being constructed in government schools to improve educational facilities. He said that classrooms being developed under the Early Childhood Education Programme were being designed to provide a better, attractive and child-friendly learning environment for young students.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf said the Punjab government was focusing on modern education and improvement of infrastructure in public-sector schools to provide students with better learning facilities.
