Peshawar: Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud conducted a thorough inspection of Islamia College on Sunday to review newly completed renovation and restoration project.
During his visit, he said that Islamia College stands as a vital historical, educational, and cultural cornerstone of the province.
He underscored the government’s steadfast commitment to preserving the institution’s original identity, saying that the architectural integrity of such landmarks remains a top priority.
Commissioner said that recent upgrades, particularly the installation of modern lighting and meticulous structural renovations, have successfully enhanced the historical building’s inherent beauty and unique identity.
He said that these restoration efforts are part of a broader provincial initiative. Similar beautification projects are currently being rolled out across Peshawar’s other landmark sites, aiming to safeguard the region’s rich cultural heritage, elevate urban aesthetics, and actively boost local tourism.
