Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Monday directed the preparation of a comprehensive plan, including PC-I, for the provision of missing facilities, beautification and rehabilitation of parks across the city.
Chairing a meeting to review the condition of parks and recreational places, the deputy commissioner said that providing citizens with a healthy, clean and pleasant environment was among the top priorities of the district administration. He directed the Horticulture Agency to conduct a detailed survey of all parks in the city, identify missing facilities and prepare a comprehensive PC-I for the provision of required amenities, beautification and rehabilitation so that the plan could be submitted to the Punjab government for allocation of funds.
The deputy commissioner said essential facilities, including lights, walking tracks, benches, children’s play areas, green belts and clean drinking water, should be provided in parks on a priority basis. He also directed the relevant officers to conduct a detailed assessment of the needs of all parks, set priorities and submit a report accordingly.
Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry said that parks were important centres of recreation and healthy activities, particularly for children and families, adding that their cleanliness, beautification, maintenance and continuous availability of basic facilities should be ensured. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Khawar Bashir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Ahmad Mughis, Assistant Commissioner Sargodha Ahmad Sher Gondal, Deputy Director of the Horticulture Agency and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
