Court awaits IHC response in threat case against PTI founder

Islamabad

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has adjourned proceedings in a case against the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over alleged threats to a female judge, as it awaits a response from the Islamabad High Court.

The case was heard by Judicial Magistrate Azhar Nadeem, who noted that the district court had yet to receive a reply from the high court to a letter sent in connection with the proceedings.

With the required response still pending, the court deferred further proceedings and fixed November 2 for the next hearing.

The case stems from allegations that the PTI founder threatened a female judge. A case in this regard was registered at Margalla Police Station.

The court’s decision to postpone the proceedings came as the judicial authorities await clarification from the Islamabad High Court, leaving further progress in the matter dependent on the pending response.
