CPWB children shine at Aitchison Inter-School Athletics championship

Lahore:Children under the care of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB), Punjab, delivered an outstanding performance at the 2nd Aitchison Under-14 Athletics Inter-School Championship, securing an impressive overall third position. According to a spokesperson for the CPWB, the young athletes demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, confidence, and sportsmanship throughout the championship and won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in various athletic events.



CPWB athlete Asad Hanif secured first position in the 400-meter race and won the Gold Medal, while Muhammad Hassan secured second position and won the Silver Medal. CPWB Chairperson Sarah Ahmad congratulated the children and appreciated their remarkable performance, saying that securing third position overall in the championship is a matter of great pride for the Bureau. She said the outstanding achievement of the children reflects the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and the commitment to nurturing and developing the potential of children. ‘Sports play a vital role in developing confidence, discipline, teamwork and leadership skills among children,’ he said.



She emphasized that it was the responsibility of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau to provide children not only with protection and care but also with ample opportunities to excel in education, sports and other positive and constructive activities. Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said children under the care of the Bureau possess immense talent and, with appropriate opportunities, training and encouragement, they could achieve success in every field of life. She added that the Bureau was providing children with opportunities to participate in sports and other constructive activities. With the support of philanthropists, a sports coach has also been appointed to promote sports among the children and further develop their athletic abilities.



Chairperson Sarah Ahmad congratulated the young athletes, coach and the entire team on their excellent performance, saying that their achievement was a source of immense pride for the Bureau and a promising indication of their bright future.



She said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau would continue its efforts to empower children and help them become safe, confident, talented and successful citizens.
