DC directs to take action against element hindering fair distribution of water in Usta Muhammad


Quetta: Deputy Commissioner Usta Muhammad Muhammad Ramzan Palal directed that strict and indiscriminate action would be taken against the elements obstructing the fair distribution of water as per the law.



He said this while chairing a meeting at Bagh Head, Tehsil Gandakha regarding addressing the public issues.



The meeting was attended by Exn Irrigation Ghulam Muhammad Badini, other officers and staff of the Irrigation Department and landowners of Qubu District.



Detailed deliberations were held in the meeting to ensure fair, transparent and uninterrupted supply of irrigation water to the tail end of Qubu District and several important decisions were taken.



On this occasion, it was decided that all the water courses of Kherthar Canal from Qubu District to Bagh Head would be closed for 48 hours, so that the water could reach the tail end of Qubu District without interruption by removing obstacles in the flow of water.



Furthermore, it was also decided that 13 water courses located in the upper part of Qubu District will be closed for 72 hours every week.



The aim of this measure is to ensure fair distribution of water on a weekly basis and to ensure that the residents of the tail end have their legitimate rights.



It was also agreed in the meeting that an indiscriminate operation would be continued against all illegal water courses and illegal pipes established on the Kherthar Canal from Khanki to Bagh Head so that water theft could be eliminated and the supply of canal water to be made transparent.



On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Usta Muhammad Muhammad Ramzan Palal said that providing the residents of Tail-end with their legitimate rights is the top priority of the district administration.



He directed that strict and indiscriminate action would be taken against the elements obstructing the fair distribution of water as per the law. He urged the Irrigation Department, local landowners and other concerned parties to show mutual cooperation and responsibility so that fair distribution of water could be ensured and every resident is provided with its allotted share in a timely manner.
