Quetta: On the vision of Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the instructions of the provincial government, the monsoon plantation campaign was formally launched in Harnai district on Tuesday.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Harnai, inaugurated the plantation campaign by planting a sapling in the District Complex Harnai.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Harnai, Divisional Forest Officer and other relevant officers of the Forest Department and the district administration were also present on the occasion.
While planting a sapling, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of plantation and said that trees play an important role in eliminating environmental pollution, reducing the effects of climate change, making the environment clean and green, and providing a better and healthier environment for future generations.
He said that the monsoon season is the most suitable time for tree plantation, so along with planting the maximum number of trees across the district, their proper care and protection would also be ensured.
He directed the concerned departments to effectively carry out the tree plantation campaign and plant the maximum number of trees at government offices, educational institutions, roadsides and other suitable places.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the public to participate fully in the tree plantation campaign and ensure their safety and care along with planting trees in their homes, neighborhoods and other available places.
He further said that tree planting was not just a campaign but a collective responsibility for the safe and prosperous future of the coming generations. The district administration would continue to take all possible steps for environmental protection, promotion of tree plantation, and making Harnai district green and lush.
