DC inspects Cardiac Centre at Bahawal Victoria Hospital

Bahawalpur: Under the ‘Healthy Punjab’ vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza visited the Cardiac Centre at Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) and reviewed medical facilities, availability of medicines and treatment arrangements for patients. During the visit, the deputy commissioner inquired after patients receiving treatment at the Cardiac Centre and spoke to patients and their attendants about the quality of medical services, availability of medicines and the provision of free medicines. Syed Hasan Raza said ensuring quality healthcare along with free medicines for patients was among the Punjab government’s foremost priorities. He directed the hospital administration to ensure that cardiac patients received timely and quality medical care without any negligence.



He also called for effective measures to further improve the standard of treatment and patient care. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) at the Cardiac Centre and reviewed the medical equipment, facilities and administrative arrangements. Director Cath Lab Dr Osama Munir briefed him on the performance of the facility and the medical services being provided to patients.



While inspecting the angiography machine and other medical equipment, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to restore all non-functional machinery at the earliest and make it available for patient care. He said effective functioning of modern medical equipment would improve treatment facilities for patients and help ensure the timely provision of healthcare services.



The deputy commissioner also directed the hospital administration to further improve cleanliness standards at the Cardiac Centre and accord priority to enhancing and facilitating medical services available to patients. Emphasizing effective monitoring of the medical and administrative affairs of the Cardiac Centre, Syed Hasan Raza said safe, timely and quality treatment for patients must be ensured at all costs.
