APHC denounces Indian policy of military might in IIOJK

Islamabad

Islamabad:In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has denounced the Indian BJP government’s policy of dealing with the Kashmir political dispute through military might and a warlike approach.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, termed Kashmir a bone of contention between the two nuclear powers of South Asia, Pakistan and India. He deplored the Indian government’s posture of attempting to deal with this political issue through military might and brute force.

The APHC urged the Indian BJP government to read the writing on the wall, saying that the Kashmiri people, despite the prevailing difficult situation, remain steadfast in their demand for the right to self-determination and continue to make sacrifices for their political aspirations.

He said that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute would usher in a new era of peace and development not only in Jammu and Kashmir but throughout South Asia.

Taking strong note of the continued cordon-and-search operations and visits by Indian military and police officers to the occupied territory and its areas along the Line of Control, he said these actions reflected India’s anti-Kashmir designs and had left the unarmed population living under the shadow of war.

The APHC spokesman said it was unfortunate that Kashmiri political prisoners, including Hurriyat leadership, continue to remain in prolonged detention. He said the Indian BJP regime was detaining freedom- and peace-loving members of Hurriyat organizations in an attempt to weaken their resolve and commitment to their cause.

He added that, despite the hardships of imprisonment, the incarcerated Hurriyat cadres remained committed to their political cause and, upon their release, would continue their struggle with renewed zeal and determination for the right to self-determination.
