Mirpurkhas:Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas Dr. Rasheed Masood on Saturday directed to launch a crackdown against dealers involved in overcharging and hoarding of fertilizers.
The decision was made during the meeting with officials of the Revenue Department, Abadgar Board President Umar Baghio and owners of fertilizer companies at the DC Office here Saturday.
On this occasion, the DC said that the hoarders and profiteers of daily use items and those involved selling sub-standard fertilizers would be dealt in accordance with the prescribed law at all costs. Strict action will be taken against profiteers, he said and added that our first responsibility was to provide relief to the common people.
The DC issued strict instructions to the assistant commissioners of all tehsils to visit the market and check the prices of daily use items especially, of milk, yoghurt and other essential edible items and report him on daily basis.
He also said that the district administration must take all measures for the public interest, which can benefit and provide relief to the people of Mirpurkhas.
