DC orders regular monitoring of markets

SIALKOT:Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Adnan Mehmood Awan has directed special price magistrates to conduct regular monitoring and inspections of markets to ensure supply of food items at fixed rates and end hoarding and overcharging.

Addressing the district price control committee meeting, he said the magistrates should also ensure display of the rate lists at conspicuous places in shops and stores and take action against those violating the orders.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Asad Raza Kazmi, Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Ghulam Sarwar, District Officer Industries Rashida Batool, deputy director Livestock, district food controller and secretaries market committees were also present.

The deputy commissioner directed the Livestock officer to keep a check on prices in Gujranwala division while fixing chicken price and follow mechanism. He said zero tolerance policy should be adopted on hoarding of sugar and flour.

The DC asked the sugar and flour dealers to refrain from hoarding and keep a complete stock record to avoid action.
