Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza on Tuesday visited the Farmers Facilitation Centre here at Ghalla Mandi, where he reviewed the facilities being provided to farmers, including the availability of quality agricultural inputs, spray machinery, and advisory services.
During the visit, he also met farmers and sought their feedback on the services being offered. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza said that, under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, farmers facilitation centers had been established in cotton-growing tehsils to provide growers with quality agricultural inputs, modern technical guidance, and subsidized farming services under one roof.
He said that farmers facilitation centers had been set up in all four tehsils of Bahawalpur district, where farmers could purchase quality pesticides, spray machinery, and spray nozzles at lower prices than those available
in the open market. He added that advisory counters at the centers were providing technical guidance on improved cotton crop management, timely control of harmful pests, selection of appropriate pesticides, and safe spraying practices.
During the visit, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Hafiz Muhammad Shafiq briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the facilities available at the center, technical advisory services being provided to farmers, and the availability of agricultural inputs.
Farmers visiting the center described the initiative as a farmer-friendly step by the Punjab government and expressed satisfaction with the services being offered. They said that access to quality agricultural inputs at subsidized rates, coupled with timely guidance from agricultural experts, would help improve cotton crop management and increase productivity.
District Director Pest Warning Shahid Hussain, Assistant Director Agriculture (Extension) Dilshad Ali Khan, and other officials of the Agriculture Department were also present.
