Decision to fix monthly stipend for elimination of child labour

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to take a big step to eliminate child labour. Senior official sources told reporter that the Punjab government will fix a monthly stipend for the elimination of child labour, in this regard, financial assistance will be provided to the parents of children under the age of 18. It has been decided to provide conditional support to the parents to remove children from labor. After financial assistance to the parents, education and training will be provided to children. Task committees will be established to eliminate child labour, a comprehensive plan will be prepared. In this regard, the Punjab government has sought recommendations for amendments to the existing law, while the committees have been assigned more than 20 tasks to eliminate child labour. Digital mapping and geo-tagging of children, helplines and rehabilitation centers will be established to eliminate child labour.
