DIG Inam-ur-Rehman assumes charge as RPO Faisalabad

Faisalabad: Newly-appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Inam-ur-Rehman has assumed charge as Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad and began his tenure by paying tribute to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives for peace and public protection.



According to Regional Police spokesman Rizwan Bhatti, the newly appointed RPO arrived at Police Lines Faisalabad, where a smartly turned-out police contingent presented him a guard of honour.



City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation, all town superintendents of police and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.



After assuming charge, DIG Inam-ur-Rehman visited the Martyrs Memorial (Yadgar-e-Shuhda) at Police Lines, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for the departed souls. He also prayed for elevation of ranks of the martyrs and for their eternal peace.



Speaking on the occasion, the RPO said that the sacrifices rendered by police martyrs would remain a guiding light for the department and would always be remembered with honour and respect.



He said that the martyrs had laid down their lives while performing their duties for the maintenance of peace and protection of the public, adding that their sacrifices were unforgettable.



The RPO’s visit to the Martyrs Memorial at the beginning of his tenure underscored the department’s recognition of the sacrifices made by its personnel in the line of duty, the spokesman added.
