Larkana: The budget session of the District Council Larkana was held under the Chairman Ijaz Ahmed Laghari, during which the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27 was presented on Thursday.
The opening balance stands at Rs. 20 crore, 87 lakh, 28 thousand, 125, while the proposed revenue is Rs. 1 billion, 34 crore, 66 lakh, 75 thousand, 200, bringing the total revenue to Rs. 1 billion, 55 crore, 54 lakh, 03 thousand, 325.
The proposed revenue expenditures amount to Rs. 52 crore, 30 lakh, 11 thousand, 634, and development expenditures amount to Rs. 1 billion, 03 crore, 11 lakh, 71 thousand, bringing total expenditures to Rs. 1 billion, 55 crore, 41 lakh, 82 thousand, 634. The annual proposed budget surplus is Rs. 12 lakh, 20 thousand, 691.
District Council Chairman Aijaz Ahmed Laghari said that for the new fiscal year 2026-27, the details of the amount allocated for salaries, pensions, gratuity, and leave encashment are as follows: an amount of Rs. 45 crore, 15 lakh, 56 thousand, 634 has been set aside for employees’ salaries and pensions, etc.
He further said that under the employment schemes, you should complete the proposals so that funds can be allocated for them, enabling the poor to find employment. He further said that through the efforts of Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and MPA Faryal Talpur, funds were allocated for ADP schemes, under which development works have been initiated and will be completed.
He also said that Chingchi rickshaws have been provided to the unemployed in every union council, enabling them to earn a livelihood, and similarly, handcarts will also be given to unemployed youth so they can support themselves. Green belts have been established on all main roads of Larkana District, which has enhanced the city’s beauty, and green belts will also be established in the remaining areas.
He added that a medical center, dispensary, and maternity home are also being constructed in the town of Badah, which will provide health facilities to the local people and residents of surrounding areas, and bulbs and solar lights have also been installed in every union council.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Buland Khan Junejo, said that under the leadership of Chairman District Council Larkana, Ijaz Ahmed Laghari, excellent work has been carried out, under which unemployed youth have been provided with Chingchi rickshaws and loaders, which have helped improve their households.
During the budget session, Vice Chairman of District Council Larkana, Asadullah Bhutto, said that the various development works carried out during your tenure are commendable, and I congratulate you on them. The public has also praised this step. I would also like to propose that green belts be installed on the roads leading to Qambar-Shahdadkot, which will further enhance the beauty.
During the session, various members presented budget proposals regarding cleanliness, development projects, solar lights, ensuring the provision of solar panels to the poor, and these were unanimously approved.
