Abbottabad: District Police Officer Abbottabad Haroon Rashid Khan and Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram on Thursday reaffirmed zero-tolerance policy against crimes, illegal activities and encroachments, stressing that protection of citizens’ lives and property and enforcement of the writ of the state remain top priorities. They expressed these views while chairing a high-level joint meeting at the District Police Office Abbottabad to review law and order, public facilitation and key administrative challenges in the district.
The meeting was attended by the SP Cantt, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad, SDPOs of all subdivisions and SHOs of all police stations across the district. The participants discussed coordinated measures for crime prevention, removal of encroachments, action against illegal mining, resolution of transport-related issues, improvement of traffic flow and addressing day-to-day problems faced by the public.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Haroon Rashid Khan said that the police would take strict action under a zero-tolerance policy against criminal elements and those challenging the law, adding that public safety, effective crime control and complete enforcement of state authority are the core focus of the police.
Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram emphasized that close coordination between the district administration and police is essential for permanent solutions to public complaints. He underlined the need for joint operations, field visits and timely actions, warning that no negligence affecting public interest would be tolerated.
The meeting also decided to strengthen monitoring of hotels, tenants and other sensitive matters, ensure prompt redressal of public complaints and further enhance vigilance by field officers to maintain peace, uphold the rule of law and ensure indiscriminate action against all illegal activities.
